Ahoy! My name is Captain Tyler McLaughlin, a two-time champion of Wicked Tuna and one-time champ of Wicked Tuna Outer Banks… Three-time winner of the Casco Bay Classic and one-time winner of the Sturdivant Island Tuna Tournament.

Welcome to Pinwheel Tuna Fishing Charters, New England’s largest, most comfortable 6-person charter tuna boat, and the most fun and exciting boat to fish on.

Departure time will be 3 am and arrive back at 6 pm.

If you think you may get seasick you can contact your doctor and ask them to prescribe you a seasick patch which you stick behind your ear, and it is the best thing out there for seasickness. Dramamine will just make you sleep the whole time, therefore, missing out on all the fun! We will make sure everyone is extremely comfortable for our steam out.

*If we land a giant bluefin tuna on a commercial fishing trip you will receive 20% off your next trip.

We will monitor the weather closely and if we must cancel your trip we will know ahead of departure and do our very best to give you as much notice as possible. We will keep open dates available throughout the season to reschedule.

Please bring enough snacks, food, and beverages for the day. We have a grill, skillet, microwave, toaster, and slow cooker onboard. We have refrigerators and many coolers and amicable storage space.

Things happen! If you need to cancel, please try, and give us 14 days’ notice. We will do our best to reschedule you or cancel completely.

What to bring… waterproof shoes/boots. LAYERS, coat, hat, WATER, children under 12 need to bring a Type 1 USCG Approved Child Life Jacket. We have all the safety gear for adults.

Tip the mate like you do your bartender! 20% is customary at the end of the charter (cash)

NOW BOOKING FOR 2024 HADDOCK SEASON

  • 9-hour Haddock & Groundfish Charter

    9-hour Haddock & Groundfish Charter

    • April 18 - May 25, 2024
    • 9 Hours
    • $1800 + Gratuity
    • $100 Fuel Charge
    • Time: 9 am – 6 pm
    • 6 persons maximum

A typical catch can vary greatly with each charter. Each day’s catch varies with the effort of each group, fishing conditions, and the number of cod and haddock in the area for that day.

Due to current cod regulations, each person can no longer bring cod home. You can take 15 haddock per day – per person – on our cod and haddock fishing charters (120 total haddock per day on the boat) but there will be plenty of catch and release cod and an occasional catch and release halibut.

All Haddock fishing charters are 9 hours (full day). Travel times are always short from the port of Gloucester with times averaging between .5 to 1.5 hours to any of the many rich fishing grounds listed above. Fishing times vary between 8 to 10 hours depending on the ride time, the type of fishing charter chosen, and the productivity of the day.

If you think you may get seasick you can contact your doctor and ask them to prescribe you a seasick patch which you stick behind your ear, and it is the best thing out there for seasickness.
